The tracker shows calculated net worth now, growth during the current period and today, the current growth rate, and future projections. Growth includes both the modelled return and your contributions; it is not investment profit alone.

What “live” means

The live number advances with elapsed time under your chosen assumptions. A saved calculation period includes the actual time elapsed even while the page was closed. Smooth and Calm change how often the numbers are displayed, not how much time the calculation includes.

The number is a calculated scenario, not a bank balance or the live market value of investments. The tracker does not connect to bank or investment accounts, and your device clock affects the result.

Return and saving methodology

The calculator uses compound growth: the annual return assumption is applied as a constant growth factor over time, including fractions of a year. For example, with no contributions, a 7% assumption turns €100 into €107 over one model year. This illustrates the formula, not a promised or guaranteed market return.

The monthly contribution is treated as a continuous, steady saving rate: twelve times the monthly amount over a model year. Contributions enter the model gradually and receive the same assumed return for the time they are included. The model does not simulate separate monthly deposits or their actual payment dates.

Your calculation period

Tracking starts automatically on your first visit and resumes from local storage. Accepted changes to the starting amount, return or contribution are recorded as assumption history; growth before those changes is retained.

Editing the starting amount previews all live calculations immediately. Leaving the field or pressing Enter accepts a valid value. The amount adjustment is not counted as growth. Set a new starting point resets Growth since start while preserving Today and history.

Projections and your custom horizon

Projections show what would happen from the current calculated value if the current return and contributions continued. A valid starting-amount draft is included in the current live calculation. They do not predict later changes to your assumptions.

Alongside the fixed 1, 5, 10, 20 and 30 year projections, Custom horizon lets you choose 1–50 whole years; its default is 40 years. It changes that projection only, not the elapsed calculation period or how contributions are modelled.

Future projections are scenarios, not forecasts, promises of returns, investment recommendations or guarantees of future wealth. Small changes in assumptions can produce large differences over a long horizon.

Limitations and interpreting the results

Actual investment returns vary. The model uses a smooth return assumption and does not simulate market volatility or the risks of individual investments. It does not include taxes, investment fees, inflation or currency conversion, so the displayed euros are not inflation-adjusted purchasing power.

There are no scheduled withdrawals or other cash flows beyond the steady contribution. Actual deposit dates are not modelled. Displayed amounts are rounded for readability; extreme assumptions can exceed the display limit. This is a scenario tool, not an accounting record.
